FAQs
What are the benefits of pelvic floor health?
A strong pelvic floor can improve bladder and bowel control, enhance sexual function, and prevent pelvic organ prolapse. It can also reduce the risk of incontinence, back pain, and other pelvic floor disorders.
How do I use The Toner?
To use The Toner, insert it into your vagina with the string outside your body. Contract your pelvic floor muscles to lift and hold The Toner for a few seconds before releasing. Refer to our exercise guide for more detailed instructions.
You know you're doing it right if: You feel a consistent contraction in your pelvic floor muscles without using your abdominal or glute muscles.
If you find the weight is slipping out: This might indicate that your pelvic floor muscles are not yet strong enough to hold the weight. Try starting with a lighter weight or lying down while practicing until your muscles are strong enough to progress.
How do I clean The Toner?
Before and after each use, wash The Toner with warm water and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a clean towel.
Avoid using harsh chemicals or alcohol-based cleaners, as they may damage the material.
Is it okay to use a lubricant when using kegel weights?
Absolutely, using a lubricant can help with the insertion process and can also add an additional challenge when using the weights. However, it's important to note that you should use a water-based lubricant rather than a silicone-based one as the latter can damage the weights.
How long should I do kegels each day?
For optimal results, we suggest using a challenging weight for around 15 minutes every day. It's important to note that the length of time you can hold the weight may vary depending on your body's condition, such as muscle fatigue or dryness. Therefore, it's perfectly fine to adjust the duration based on how you feel each day.
To make it easier to incorporate into your daily routine, many women prefer to use weights during their morning or evening routines, or even while showering. To encourage your muscles to engage throughout the day, we recommend standing and moving with the weights during your daily activities.
How do I know when to move up to the next weight level?
It's important to challenge yourself and gradually progress to the next level as your pelvic floor muscles get stronger. We recommend starting with the lightest weight and gradually increasing to the darker weights over time.
As a general guideline, once you can comfortably hold The Toner for 1 minute, it's time to move up to the next weight level. It's important to listen to your body and do what works for you, as every woman is different. Refer to our exercise guide for more detailed instructions and tips.
How long does it take to see results?
Improving your pelvic floor strength takes time and consistency. While some women may notice a difference within 1-2 weeks of consistent use, it typically takes 3-4 weeks for most women to see an improvement. Remember, everyone is different, and results may vary. It's important to keep in mind that like any exercise program, you won't see overnight results. It takes a dedicated effort, following the instructions and guidance in our exercise guide to achieve optimal results. Trust the process, and you'll begin to feel the benefits in no time.
What should I do if I can't keep The Toner in?
When beginning your kegel journey with The Toner, it's important to recognize that every woman’s level of pelvic floor strength is different, and it’s perfectly normal to find the first weight challenging. If you’re struggling to keep the weights in, it may indicate that your pelvic floor muscles need a bit more time to build strength.
Here’s what you can do:
- Start with a lighter weight: If the current weight feels too heavy, try using a lighter one. This can help you build a strong foundation without causing frustration.
- Use our exercise guide: Follow the exercises in our guide to gradually strengthen your pelvic floor. Consistency is key.
- Try lying down: Performing the exercises while lying down can make it easier to hold The Toner in place. As your strength improves, you can transition to doing the exercises while standing or moving around.
- Be patient and listen to your body: Building pelvic floor strength takes time. Don’t rush the process. If something doesn’t feel right, take a break and try again later.
Remember, patience is key. Every small step you take is progress, and over time, you'll notice your pelvic floor muscles becoming stronger and more capable.
Should using The Toner hurt?
Using The Toner should not be painful. If you experience discomfort or pain, stop using it and consult with your healthcare provider.
Pain could indicate that you are contracting the wrong muscles or that the weight is too heavy for you.
Can The Toner be used during pregnancy?
We recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before using The Toner during pregnancy.
